It’s hard to believe just how quickly 12 months can pass and, in that time, how many changes we’ve seen imposed on society and businesses.

At LW Developments, we’ve taken this opportunity to reflect on 2021, because despite the increased restrictions, social distancing and lack of post-work pint, it was a great year for our team.

Planning permission approved for Cheshunt FC stadium

After eight years in the planning process, Cheshunt Sports Village was finally given approval in September. The sports village will home Cheshunt FC with a 2,000-capacity stadium, designed to accommodate 5,000 spectators in the future. The village will also include 163 private and affordable new homes ranging from one bed apartments to four bed family homes. We’re also delighted to be able to provide a range of community leisure and business facilities.

Challenging times

It’s without doubt that the supply and delivery of construction materials throughout 2021 has given logistical headaches to our team. However, with effective and concise planning and a strong supply chain, we’ve managed to ensure materials remain on-site and our teams have been able to continue developing at Northaw.

Inspiration for the future

The climate conference in Glasgow has reinvigorated our excitement to continue to seek new and sustainable build methods in to 2022. We know it’s what our customers want but more than that, we want to do the right thing for our environment and future generations who will live in our homes.

We have permission for 14 custom build homes in Goffs Oak, Broxbourne, ready to start this year, as well as applications submitted for new residential units in Colliers End and Buntingford, East Hertfordshire, and plans to build 35 houses and 30,000 sq ft of commercial space in Nazeing, Essex.

As ever, we’ll be looking to engage with local communities and ensure we’re continuing to invest in the communities we’re part of.
